The Seasons of the Witch, the “Wheel of the Year” Our 8 Sabbats
Come join in the celebration of Ostara…
We will gather to celebrate The festival of Ostara, the Spring Equinox, the third spoke on the ever-turning wheel of the year. Honoring the God and Goddess as natures balance returns to the world. For Witches, it is an enchanted time outside of time, where a magical seam joins dark with light.
As the chains of winter are broken, Spring will arrive, this is the time when all of life burst forth in joyous celebration.
The Spring Goddess rises from the Depths of the Underworld and brings forth new life.
New born animals begin to emerge and explore the world, eggs are decorated sending the exquisite message to all here on Earth that this is the season of rebirth.
As the melting snow and ice gives way to green petals and delicate blooms of early Spring flowers, we, too will feel a sense of renewal and joy.
Hail Great Goddess, the chains of your wintry prison have fallen away.
Now is the greening, when the delicate scent of flowers drifts on the breeze.
The cycle begins anew and life rekindles itself by Your magic, Earth Goddess.
The God stretches and arises, fervent in His youth, and bursting with the promise of summer.
I walk the earth in friendship, not in dominance.
Mother Goddess and Father God, instill within me
through your fertile plants a warmth for all living things.
Teach me to revere the Earth and all its treasures.
May I never forget.
Meditate upon the changing of the seasons. Feel the rousing of energies around you in the Earth.
You may wear flowers or wreaths to adorn your hair
Many paint their faces drawing a spiral on their foreheads or cheeks or draw a flower on cheek or Triangles for the triple Goddess
Instruments of all types are welcomed (drums, rattles, etc.)
